As part of our Trust Deed Scotland Foundation charity, we were recently delighted to sponsor the local youth football team, Cambuslang Colts 2005s.
The team – who play in the Glasgow and District Youth Football league – was established by Chairman Danny Griffin in 2007.
Danny Griffin, who is also a referee for the Scottish Football Association, set up Cambuslang Colts FC to give children and young adults in the local area, a chance to play football and enjoy activities that help to keep their hearts and minds focused on positivity.
Danny said:
“As a club, we try to do things as cost-effective as possible, so that the parents aren’t paying over the odds for their children to play football.
Our sponsors allow us to help families that may not be able to afford kit otherwise. So many families in Scotland live under the menace of poverty and it’s with immense pride that we’re able to give the community something back.
At Christmas, we also try to give back to those in the local community struggling financially through the food bank.”
The young team’s sponsors help to provide free match, training and waterproof kits as well as social trips for the children
Throughout the season, the team enjoys trips to places like Manchester City, Ibrox Stadium, Celtic Park Stadium, Hampden, Craig Tara, Broadwood Stadium, the home of Clyde FC, Skegness and even Barcelona.
The team was surprised with their new Trust Deed Scotland football strips at their first tournament in Strathaven last week where they placed third. Well done lads – best of luck in your upcoming games!
